Before you begin

Five rules that prevent most mistakes.

  1. 01Use a steel tape measure, not a cloth tape.
  2. 02Measure every window, even when they look identical.
  3. 03Write width first, then height: W × H.
  4. 04Record to the nearest 1/8 inch.
  5. 05Do not make your own factory deduction.

Choose your mount

Where will your Zebra Shade sit?

Inside mount gives a built-in look. Outside mount covers more of the opening and can help when the frame is shallow or has obstructions.

Recommended forA clean, recessed finish

Confirm that the frame has enough flat depth for the Zebra cassette and that handles will not interfere.

TOP · MIDDLE · BOTTOM
01

Measure the width

Measure inside the opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Record all three measurements exactly as taken.

LEFT · CENTER · RIGHT
02

Measure the height

Measure inside the opening at the left, center, and right. Record all three measurements exactly as taken.

03

Check depth and obstacles

Measure usable depth from the front edge toward the glass. Note locks, cranks, tile, trim, or anything the shade must clear.

Zebra Shade detail

The cassette needs room too.

Zebra Shades roll into a cassette at the top. For an inside mount, send the usable frame depth and a straight-on photo so the cassette and fabric can be checked against the selected system.

  • Close-up of the frame depth
  • Any handle or crank shown clearly

What to send

Label every window clearly.

Living room · Window 1W × HInside or outside mount · Depth · Photos

Send each window as its own line with all measurements in inches. Keep the original numbers. Do not subtract for clearance or hardware.
